may ask what is the meaning of what we are
about to witness, and what is the importance of
baptism for thirdspeople…
And so we respond:
We baptize believers who have offered themselves to God…
We baptize believers who desire to follow the LORD’S example…
We baptize to demonstrate the inward reality of the New Birth and the presence of the Holy Spirit in the celebrant’s lives…
We baptize to show that a visible break with the world has occurred…
We baptize to show the celebrant’s identification with this local, New Testament Church…
And finally, we baptize to exhibit, to all who care to see, that the celebrants have identified with the finished work of Christ on the cross and in the resurrection…
In baptism God invites us on a life-long journey with his church...
Together with all God's people we explore the way of Jesus and grow in friendship with God, in love for his people, and in serving others…
And so we respond:
